DermVault Terms of Use

DermVault is developed by Dr Sanjai Maria Jeyen M ("the developer"). By using DermVault you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who may use DermVault

DermVault is for registered medical practitioners and the clinic staff they authorise. You must be 18 or older.

2. What DermVault is, and isn't

DermVault is a tool for keeping, comparing and exporting clinical photos and notes. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment or give medical advice. Severity scores, notes and treatment markers are what you enter; the app does not check them. All clinical decisions remain yours.

3. Your responsibilities

Obtain each patient's consent before photographing them, and use photos only as they agreed.
Follow the laws and rules that apply to you, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the National Medical Commission's rules on patient confidentiality, and your hospital's or institution's policies.
Keep your phone locked and your PIN private. You decide which staff get a profile and are responsible for their use of it.
Be careful where you share exported PDFs, GIFs and backup files.

4. Your data

Everything you enter stays on your phone and belongs to you or your institution. The developer runs no servers and has no access to it. The Privacy Policy explains this in detail.

5. Backups

Backups are optional and under your control. Keep your backup passphrase safe: it cannot be recovered, and without it a backup cannot be opened. Check now and then that your backups restore. The developer cannot recover lost data.

6. Test versions

Test versions may contain mistakes, may stop working on a set date, and may change before release. Until your institution approves its use with real patients, use test versions with test data only.

7. Price and changes

DermVault is free. Features may be added, changed or removed in later versions.

8. No warranty

DermVault is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. The developer is not liable for loss of data, or for indirect or consequential loss, arising from use of the app, to the extent the law allows.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the app will show the new version and ask you to accept it before continuing.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
